Guitar Player magazine presented Larry with their Lifetime Achievement "Legend" Award in recognition of his many accomplishments spanning 3,000+ recording sessions, 200 hits, 100 gold albums, 33 solo recording projects, 3 Ad Lib awards, 16 Grammy nominations and 3 Grammy wins.
Michael Molenda, Guitar Player Magazine's Editor in Chief, presented the award during Muriel Anderson's All Star Guitar Night at the Ryman
Auditorium in Nashville.

Gibson rocked Nashville during Summer NAMM with their legendary Summer Jam, staged at the Gibson Custom Shop where they make some of the most magnificent guitars on the planet. In the house ... Slash, Johnny Winter, Lee Roy Parnell, Billy Duffy, Billy Morrison, Jerry Cantrell and Brett Scallions. A giant fan of Mr. 335, Johnny asked Larry to join him for a tune. Larry happily complied and the crowd went nuts!
