NEW! TrueFire Blog
Published for musicians, by musicians, THE PUNCH-IN is a new blog from TrueFire for anyone trying to carve out a living making music.

We talk about the inspiration behind composition and the exhilaration of a great jam. We talk about failure and success and the countless stops in between. We share our best finds and sound advice.

We bring to bear all of the resources at our disposal — pro players, instructors, producers, engineers, publishers, guitar makers, industry experts, and most importantly YOU — the contributions from friends of the Fire is indeed the secret ingredient to help all of us become the musicians we've always wanted to be.

TrueFire on GP2
GP2 is a new, online and free publication from Guitar Player magazine. 5 free TrueFire video lessons are featured in the July edition of GP2. Tune in 25 blues, rock, jazz, country and acoustic licks you MUST know in the August issue, which will be released soon.

We are majorly stoked to announce that TrueFire courses are now being exclusively distributed by Hal Leonard to retailers big and small around the world. This is the first time in our 18-year history that players will be able to purchase TrueFire courses at their local music store!

"TrueFire has filmed an enormous number of high-quality video lessons and we're very proud to offer the footage in DVD format for the first time," says Hal Leonard top cat Jeff Schroedl. Thanks Jeff! We're equally excited to have such a successful and well-respected company and distributor take us to retail.

Robben Ford-Soul On Ten
reviewed by Charlie Diaz

Thanks to modern science one can now argue that there is reason in the world, reasons behind why certain things are the way they are. Yet, in a strange and beautiful way there are things that have no reason; they cannot be explained. Like how life began, where the moon came from and why Robben Ford is just so damn cool.

I once had the opportunity to shake Robben's hand after one of his shows. Later that night I won twenty-five bucks on a scratch off ticket, immaculately whistled the solo to “Good Times Bad Times” and gained 250 new followers on Twitter. Yes, I believe there is something we don’t know about Robben Ford.

However, one thing we do know about Robben is that he is one of the greatest artists to ever own the blues. Lest you disbelieve that statement, heed this: the Blues chooses its master; the Blues decides those worthy to own it versus those worthy to share it. When it comes to Robben Ford, the Blues has definitely made its choice clear.

Yet, for those of you that may need scientific proof, then put Robben’s 2009 release, "Soul on Ten" under your musical microscope. Recorded live at the Independent in San Francisco, the album contains 10 natural laws on why Robben Ford is not only a master of the Blues, but also a pioneer of the form; taking it places it’s never been, clearing paths for the rest of us to follow – and let there be no doubt, the rest of us will follow.

Maybe one day science will find the reason why Robben Ford is so cool, then again maybe it won’t. Until then we have to be satisfied with the knowledge that "Soul on Ten" is a force of nature whose magnitude will pull all those around it into an orbit they’ll never want to escape from.

TRUEFIRE'S TWEEPSTAKES! 30 Days, 30 Tweets, 30 Daily Prizes and
1 Extremely Sweet Pete Anderson Reverend Guitar Grand Prize!

A lot can happen in 30 days. Nations are felled [sic], novels are penned, routine becomes habit and our Twitter followers can reap monster rewards by participating in TrueFire’s Tweepstakes!

Every day, for 30 days starting Monday, September 14th, we’ll be giving away daily prizes to our Twitter followers. Daily prizes feature top-ranked courses, free tuitions, TrueFire tees and more. At the end of the 30 days, we’ll also award our most creative follower with a brand spanking new Pete Anderson Reverend Guitar. All you have to do is follow us and tweet. It’s that simple.

How It Works
First off, make sure that you are following TrueFire (http://twitter.com/truefiretv) and then look for a tweet from us each morning during the 30 days (you can start anytime within the 30 days). The daily tweets may be a question, a riddle or a challenge and you'll have 24 hours to respond. HINT: The more creative your response, the better!

IMPORTANT! To ensure that your response tweet gets recognized, make sure you include the TrueFire hashtag (#truefire) or simply re-tweet our original question with your answer.

How to Win a Prize!
If your response is selected as one of our favorites, you’ll win a daily prize. At the end of the 30 days, winning responses are entered in a poll where the TrueFire community will vote on the best tweet of them all. Whoever has the most votes after a week of voting takes home the gorgeous Pete Anderson Signature Reverend guitar!

Why Follow TrueFire on Twitter? Because of its immediacy, we've been using Twitter for many exclusive activities that do not appear on our website or in our other communications; sneak artist video peeks in the studio and on the road, daily Fire Sales and promotions, quick tips and tricks, hot news and other behind-the-scenes updates.
