TFU 6.6 Video CD-ROM:
Vertical Soloing II

We continue our study of "vertical soloing" in this second set of lessons. Learning how to "see" all of the chord tones in a single "vertical" position is essential for learning how to play and improvise over chord changes. Of equal benefit, you are forced to break away from your comfort zone, visual routines and old bags of licks. In short, vertical soloing is your key to busting out of the rut and accelerating your knowledge of the fretboard. This first lesson covers the I IV and V chords in various configurations with both the roots of the chords in the bass and the chords played over a pedal tone. You will learn chord forms with their related arpeggios, pentatonics and modes. >About TFU...
Free Pick! 10 Fat Country & Bluegrass Licks

These licks are designed to give a player access to the vocabulary and style of Bluegrass and Country Guitar. They move through different positions and were constructed to help open up new ways of seeing the fretboard. Open positions are also key to the style and are featured in both this and part 2 of this lesson.

Guitar Hero Trey Alexander's Quantum Rock - #1 course with a bullet!
No other instrumental musical style has evolved quicker, or with greater sophistication, than electric rock guitar. The influence and progression from one generation to the next is clearly quantifiable in terms of tone, technique, harmony, composition and versatility. Years ago, if you had a grip on 1-4-5 progressions, pentatonic scales, a few bends and a couple of double-stops, you could gig or jam with pretty much anyone. Today however, rockers must have a big bag of theoretical, musical, physical and technical chops just to get by. And that's what Quantum Rock is all about - essential skill development for today’s new generation of rock guitarist.
