TFU 6.4 Video CD-ROM:
The Ten Things You Got To Do To Play Like Robin Trower

Remember the ’70s? the Pre-Disco ’70s, to be exact? If not, let me remind you that this was an incredibly fertile and creative period in music history. Blues rock, progressive rock, funk, and fusion were in their prime, corporate rock was just a gleam in the eye of its future shareholders, big, brash guitar (not fashion) was at the forefront of the music scene, and the Robin Trower Band was packing arenas and charting albums in the Top Ten. This month we have 20 licks, tips, & tricks in the style of Robin Trower. >About TFU...
Free Pick! Saucer Full: Pink Floyd, Part 1 & 2

The timeless band Pink Floyd is, without question, worthy of study. Here's your chance with a 25-part lesson. From their '60s pre-grunge "space rock," under the aegis of founder Syd Barrett, to the epic material of classics like Dark Side of the Moon, with David Gilmour on board, Floyd combined blues, psychedelia, gloom-rock and more into a distinctive sound in which the guitar played a pivotal role. Gilmour's thoughtful, spacious playing is a perfect antidote to shred-itis.. Part 1 and Part 2 are available now... >Dig in ...
Tip Jar: Larry Carlton and Robben Ford hit the road...

Larry Carlton and Robben Ford may be headed to a venue near you. The shows are rescheduled from a tour originally scheduled for last August and it might be quite a while before you get another shot at catching these two monsters doing their thing together on the same stage.

2008 TRUEFIRE POLL: Share your 2-cents - Win a Reverend guitar or one of 99 other prizes!
TrueFire student and member feedback from our annual polls guide the courses we produce, the artists and educators we work with, and the new learning tools we create. This year, poll participants also have a shot at winning one of 100 prizes including courses, gear, software and one of those hot new Reverend guitars that you’ve been hearing so much buzz about.

Please participate in our 2008 TrueFire Poll. We'll share the results and promise it will be well worth your while (you'll even get a promo code at the end of the poll).

Have you visited our home page recently? Check out the controls on our brand-spanking new video player! You've now got rewind, fast-forward, looping, full-screen, keyboard shortcuts and a few other tricks to optimize your viewing and learning pleasure. While you're there, tune in some fresh fretwork from Andreas Oberg and Trace Bundy at January's All Star Guitar Night, along with a few previews of upcoming courses with Paul Rishell and Trey Alexander.

Did you know? Feedback was so positive about the free audio lessons promotion that we're keeping them free and streaming on TrueFire for all members and students. Log-in, explore the Interactive Audio category, and look for the bold titles (there's thousands of them). You'll be able to stream the audio lessons free and access the accompanying charts, tab and notation. Warning! Use of these lessons may lead to grossly enlarged chops.

Practice smart, play hard!
