GP2 Launches
Guitar Player Magazine has just launched their new online magazine GP2 with TrueFire powering the highly educational SESSIONS section featuring interactive video
and audio lessons.
This month's lessons feature some tasty shred for the shed from Jeff Beasley and insight from Frank Gambale, Steve Lukather and Andy Summers.

Introducing GP2, the brand new digital magazine from Guitar Player
With each issue of GP2, not only will you be getting selections of “the
stuff” from the latest hot-off-the-press issues of GP, but you’ll also get
the need-to-know advice from years of our archives.
And, each month GP2 will offer up complete selections of your favorite GP
music lessons, gear roundups, how to’s, and artist interviews – a veritable
feast of GP “must know” guitar lore.
And if that weren’t enough, every issue of GP2 includes classic interviews
from the early days of Guitar Player, such as Clapton and Hendrix from the
’60s, or Beck and Page from the ’70s, or Van Halen from the ’80s and onward
to other guitar stars covered throughout GP’s 42-year history.
And the really cool thing here is that GP2 is absolutely free.

Rocktron has a history of many “firsts”. In 1984 the company introduced the
first compressors, preamps, enhancers, effects and controllers with built-in
noise reduction, along with the first footswitchable rack mount compressors.
1985 saw the introduction of the first touch-sensitive, digitally-controlled
multi-effects preamp. In ’89 Rocktron provided the first factory-produced
Bradshaw switchers. | |

Frank Vignola Trio Takes Italy by Storm
Frank Vignola's Trio just spent the last week in Italy at
the Soave Guitar Festival
where last year Frank played at the
Teatro Olimpico
(the oldest indoor amphitheatre on the planet). This memorable evening was
captured on video and now you can
see a sneak peek from Frank's
performance there with Tommy Emmanuel.
Plus, fresh from the road, here's video performance of
Frank's Trio at
this year's Soave Guitar Festival (many more coming).
Frank's also been busy in the studio.
Have a
listen to his track ("Gypsymania")
from the Trio's new album, Looking Up,
releasing this fall featuring Vinny Raniolo and Gary
Mazzaroppi.
Massimo Varini: Italian Electric/Acoustic Multi-Media Maestro
We first met Massimo at the Soave Guitar Festival last
year and were instantly attracted to his unique sound both on the electric
and the acoustic guitar. After spending more time with him (and over a few
italian pizzas) we learned he's got both a signature Martin and a signature
PRS guitar, he's a prolific educator, producer, YouTube phenom and a true
visionary when it comes to presenting his music to mutli-media video
presentations. It's unlike anything you've likely seen before and truly
memorable. You'll likely be seeing more of Massimo in the months to come.

Greg Koch & Nation Sack
For those of you new to the planet, Greg Koch "has been called a "twisted guitar genius" and "eclectic virtuoso" by guitar pundits. In his own words, he is nothing short of a "plectrum-wielding skullduggarist." Greg's new band, Nation Sack, features Malford Milligan on vocals, Tom Good on bass and Del Bennett on drums. We were fortunate enough to experience (very appropriate descriptor) the band at the Soave Guitar Festival and highly
recommend you do the same at the very next opportunity.
